Walsingham is a beautiful little village near the sea in Norfolk and the team there are so excited to welcome us!
So why is Walsingham such a special place? Why would we make the long journey together to go there?
Well, in 1061 Our Lady appeared to Richeldis De Faverches, known as Rychold, who was an English noblewoman. During these apparitions Rychold was given visions of the home Our Lady grew up in, in Nazareth, and where the Angel Gabriel visited.
The Virgin Mary then invited Rychold to build a replica of this home right there in Norfolk! This is the reason that some refer to Walsingham as England’s Nazareth!
So, we are going to make a pilgrimage to this Holy site, learn more about the apparitions and the construction of the Holy house and spend time understanding and growing in our faith!
There will be the usual mix of fun, games, prayer, Mass, amazing food, and the chance to meet other young people who want to explore their faith too!
