Welcome Youth Leaders! Read on to find out what NYMO has in store for you.

What's it all about?
We've created a learning community to bring together everyone in the Catholic diocese of Northampton who is working with, or wanting to work with, young people in their parishes.
The learning community is made up of online resources and forums, virtual meetings each term, and adhoc catch ups with members of the NYMO team. The vision is to create a network of youth leaders, supporting each other to grow spiritually and practically to best disciple the youth of the diocese.

We know and understand how difficult it is running youth ministry in parishes and schools. As a team we’d love to support you in your local youth ministry. We’ve engaged with some of you already in this, and want to extend the invitation to everyone passionate about young people in our diocese.

If you need help knowing where to begin, or if you are already running an established ministry, then we’d love to hear from you, this page is for you. Let us know what you need and how we can help.

In addition to what you find here, we can offer:

  • assistance in running youth sessions
  • coaching to help you develop your youth ministry
  • training in youth ministry topics
  • networking to share ideas and bring groups together
  • strategy sessions to help shape and form your vision and plan.

Our NYMO events cover a range of engagements for young people in the Northampton diocese aged 11 to 35. We have different events to target different age groups all to support and emboldened them on their journey of faith and to sit alongside the ongoing engagement in parishes. Our vision and goal is to provide high points of faith experiences to compliment ongoing accompaniment and long term discipleship in their local contexts. To work with us on establishing our events as part of your longer term engagement, or to establish a local engagement programme to facilitate discipleship, reach out to us at NYMO.admin@northamptondiocese.com

we have an online learning community meeting happening each term for the next academic year. Here we will have input from a guest speaker on a particular topic followed by time in groups to discuss and pray together, so we can share ideas and support each other in our youth ministry.

We have a number of different discussion boards that we have started as a way to get discussion going. These are topics we think may be of use to you. Please add questions, answers, and new topics as you need.

LifeTeen is an American organisation focused on leading teenagers close to Christ. They have an incredible approach which has been rolled out across the US and many other countries and their resources are so useful in implementing their tried and tested approach.

We’d thoroughly recommend following them on social media for inspiration.

Alpha Youth is the youth programme of Alpha. It is a programme to help young people who are exploring the possibility of faith. The resources and videos are amazing for teaching and engaging and providing opportunities for discussion and thought especially among peers.
