ENCOURAGING THE PERSONAL AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF OUR YOUNG PEOPLE IN THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST AND EACH OTHER

The long-term direction of our ministry is determined by three key aims which formed part of our original mandate from the Diocese under the ‘Y Church Report’.

Each year, we review our ministry in the light of these aims, to make sure that we are working towards our long-term goal. This ongoing process of review enables us to best serve youth ministry in the Diocese.

At all times we aim to:

  • support and complement local youth ministry
  • offer experiences of the wider Church to young people and youth leaders
  • communicate the messages from the wider Church to, and from, young people

Our Prayer

St Columba’s Youth Group in Chesham worked to create a prayer for the youth ministry of the diocese. Thinking about words, images and themes that were relevant to the needs of young people, they formulated a brilliant prayer to help us all to pray for these needs.

Father,
Thanks for all the gifts of youth –
for friendships, for passion, for keeping it real!
may they be used and shared with others for your glory…

And thank you for youth leaders,
teachers, parents and priests.
Be with them and inspire them…

Please help all young people,
especially those who suffer for their beliefs
or struggle in their faith…

Bless all young people in our diocese,
bring us closer to you
and each other in Jesus Christ…

Amen!
