Blaze retreat days

So you’re getting Confirmed? You are going to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and all the blessings that follow. It's kind of a big deal. You have probably been going along to your church and doing some sessions to help you prepare and understand Confirmation a bit more. As part of this preparation, on Saturday 4th March and on Saturday 25th March, hundreds of young people are getting together for Blaze.

For those in the north of the Diocese, we are going to Thornton College on Saturday 4th March and for those in the south, we're holding the same day at Restore Hope, Latimer, near Chesham, on Saturday 25th March.

So what are we going to do?
  • Games
  • Music
  • Quality time with God
  • Loads of workshops such as dancing and drama (hey we're not gonna make you dance if you don't want to)
  • A chance to go to reconciliation/confession
  • Meet the bishop and ask him questions in Quiz the Bishop
  • Meeting other Confirmandi (that's the posh word for more than one person making their Confirmation)
Oh yeah, nearly forgot. Quick question. As Catholics, what's the most important appointment of our week? Yep, Sunday Mass. We're going to have Mass together (Saturday evening Mass is the same celebration as Sunday, but a bit earlier) so you might even be allowed to have a lie in on Sunday. Nice.

The day costs £8. If you would like your Confirmation group to come, ask your Catechist about it. All the information for them is here.

Very last thing. Don't forget to bring a packed lunch. Hope to see you there Blazers!
