Whether you are young or an old Bishop like me, there are plenty of people giving us advice and telling us what to do. It can be very difficult working out the way forward. Sometimes we just need some space to think.
When I was young, I thought that I knew what I wanted to do, to join the army. But, little by little, something made me think that God was calling me to be a priest. Like the young Samuel, I had to learn to listen to the voice of God in my heart.
God is calling each one of us to live our lives in his way whatever we choose to do in the future.
It is so important to be open to God in our prayer, our Sunday Mass, and the sacraments.
I pray that the Holy Spirit may guide us all and especially our young people in important decisions for the future as living stones in the Church, the Body of Christ.
